In the last month we have had 4 incidents, 2 of which were a slowing of the system related to the same issue and 1 minor outage that was resolved in 10 minutes. This most recent incident is unrelated to the others and lasted for just over an hour resulting from a malicious act against a third party provider that cascaded onto us.

We understand that after a relatively long period of no incidents, having 4 so close to each other may result in some frustration and inconvenience. In all cases we have resolved matters well within our SLA timescales; however, our ambition is to prevent rather than have to resolve issues. Our current solutions prevent a recurrence of this incident, but we will not stop there and have identified additional actions we can take to make our robust defences even more so. This will stop the messages showing as failed and will also prevent the lead contact preferences from being automatically updated.

Once we have confirmation that the issue with our SMS carrier is resolved the tracking will be enabled again. Jun 29, 14:08:37 GMT+0 - Identified - We have been made aware that text messages are showing as failed when sent from the system. Where the recipient is valid the text messages are actually being delivered but a problem with our SMS carrier is incorrectly showing the messages as failed.

This has been escalated with our SMS carrier for a fix to be implemented as soon as possible. Updates will be posted back here once this issue is resolved.

Within 2 working days of the issue being reported, we contacted all customers affected and worked more closely with the few most affected by providing additional details and supporting further enquiries. 

From the lessons learned from this incident, we have improved our Incident Management Process and implemented additional checks to prevent a recurrence of this issue. 

We would like to take the time to appologise for any disruption caused and to thank all our customers for their patience and positive response to our assistance. This is being worked on with our email host but in the meantime there is an alternative email address that the leads can be sent to.
